2022 Registration Fee: $200
THE GRAND RIVER BLUES CAMP is a four day Camp each August that provides an intensive learning experience for young, aspiring musicians, who want to perform and is a perfect supplement to private lessons and practicing. Participants, play with other young artists; learn from and perform with local, professional blues musicians providing a great opportunity to improve your music skills and to learn about blues. The music that is the foundation for rock, hip hop, R&B and most modern popular music - the culmination of the week's camp is a performance at the internationally renown TD Kitchener Blues Festival kitchenerbluesfestival.com.
* between the ages of 12-18 (flexibility exists especially with previous participants);
* play drums; guitar; bass; brass; percussion; keyboards; harmonic; vocals;
* have acquired basic skill on your instrument(s);
* want to learn to play the blues;
* want to make some new friends and meet other musicians;
* want to play the Kitchener Blues Festival;
* want to learn from and jam with professional musicians;
* learn blues techniques/licks;
* want to perform solo or with your own band/group;
* learn set-up sound/stage equipment (back-line);
* compose original music
* want to HAVE FUN!!!
2022 Registration Fee: $200
For many students, teachers and fans, the "Blues Camp" is one of the highlights of their musical year. We hope to see you there.
There may be some operational changes to the Camp to meet the required safety protocols due to COVID-19. We are monitoring this on a daily basis. It the camp has to be cancelled there will be a refund of all payments.
